In Washington, DC we welcomed participants from ten schools on May 11th, 2016, for our first ManageBac Workshops in the DC area. Thank you to Eastern High School for hosting.

We started with networking activities and a company update from ManageBac staff, followed by programme-specific workshops.

The breakout sessions allowed teachers, coordinators, and administrators to share best practices. Sessions focused on how to utilize ManageBac to the fullest while keeping students, teachers, and parents accountable and informed.

Setting up the gradebook and report cards were popular topics as many schools are transitioning to a criterion or standards based grading model. Amy Quinn, PYP Coordinator at Washington Yu Ying PCS, said, “Parents rave about ManageBac because they can login at anytime and access any report card they want!”

Curriculum mapping and assessment was also discussed. Dean Harris, IB Coordinator at Washington International School, explained, “Unit planners provide great guidance for MYP teachers at all levels of IB expertise.”

We thank our attendees and look forward to hosting many more ManageBac Workshops in America!
