On May 21, we welcomed 13 participants from four schools to the International School of London in London for the first OpenApply Social in Europe.
The afternoon began with a company update from Managing Director Angelica Nierras, who announced our integration partnership with iSAMS. (See more here.)
The company update was followed by a practical OpenApply presentation from the International School of London in Surrey, led by Claudine Hakim, Head of Secondary & Head of Admissions, and Brit Beckers, School Secretary – Admissions.
Claudine and Brit discussed the implementation of OpenApply at their school, from the days of accepting paper applications to the transition to paperless forms.
After working with the OpenApply team to create their forms and checklist items in September 2013, Claudine and Brit introduced the system to their colleagues and took it for a test drive. They went live in January 2014 and had their first signup on January 27!
Today OpenApply is used by 11 staff, including members of the accounting, marketing and language departments. The system has enhanced communication across the school, and made it easier for the school to process over 500 applications each year.
Claudine and Brit’s presentation raised a number of topics for discussion which continued after their presentation during the networking section of the event. Particular topics of interest included:
• Paper vs. online applications
• Online credit card payments
• Analytics and reporting
• Centralized communication

Thank you to all our participants, and thank you to the International School of London for being such excellent hosts!
